Application of two types of excavators with lifting platform
Currently, there are two types of excavators with lifting platforms designed for special construction work: long-reach excavators (so-called 'long-reach excavators') and high-platform excavators.
The excavator with a lifting platform features an ultra-high ground clearance and a chassis capable of overcoming obstacles. It is mainly used for special projects, including railway construction, port operations, mining, and wetland improvement work abroad, to overcome the limitations of standard excavators. At railway freight stations, the machine can directly bypass railway cars. With a raised full-view cab, it efficiently unloads bulk cargo such as coal, ore, and sand without temporary scaffolding. Trains can be processed immediately upon arrival, significantly reducing transit time. It is widely used at railway terminals in Africa and Southeast Asia, as well as for railway maintenance tasks, including ballast cleaning and trenching over tracks, without interrupting railway traffic.
The high-platform excavator is equipped with a lifting chassis featuring excellent wading capability, allowing it to dig trenches and perform earthwork in shallow waters. It is widely used in wetland renovation and tidal flat projects. As a cost-effective alternative to amphibious excavators, it effectively reduces overall operating expenses.
